According to the Brother support site, for this model (2400c): ====
Macintosh (O/S 10, 10.1) Macintosh Ethernet Driver You can use the PostScript Driver supplied with MacOS X. ==== Although this is not very clear, I suspect they mean that you can print to the printer using the standard "generic" driver and Brother have not done a specific PPD file for this printer. Obviously your Mac won't know some of its finer details, like printable area, resolution, options etc, but it should just work. That's the official line but I have been successful with older printers, officially unsupported for OS X, by using the PPD file from OS9. This can be obtained from the Brother website, hopefully at: http://www.brother-support.co.uk/KNOWLEDGESTORE/Product%20Bank.nsf/b98b100e7 534f29180256a8e0042a253/c58ea23fca051b7680256b7b003a7057?OpenDocument This will get you an installer which has to be run in OS9 (although it MAY work in Classic - I haven't tried it). After you have run this you should find a new PPD file in the Printer Descriptions folder for OS 9 - in the Extensions folder which is in the OS 9 System Folder. Move or copy this into the OSX Printers folder (in Library), and then navigate to it when you set up your printer and it asks you to select a PPD/Driver file. This will probably work fine. One more thing, though - is this model possibly a CN or CeN rather than just a C? If so, there is a MacOSX driver, at: http://www.brother.com/cgi-bin/agreement/agreement.cgi?dlfile=http://www.bro ther.com/pub/printer3450/brxPPDs0207_sit.hqx&lang=English This is from the US site - there isn't an OS X driver on the UK support site. It should still work fine and have A4 sizes etc, but without trying it I can't say that it will for absolute certain. Let us know if any of this works for you!
