Ive had 1MBit ADSL for the last four or five months from Bulldog, and there are plenty of ISPs already offering it PlusNet, Pipex and Metronet are just three quick examples. Some ISPs even offer 2Mbit already. BT are very slow off the bat theyve only just announced 1MBit service which is apparently available from now (although their website hadnt been updated earlier today when I checked it out).
And dont worry, I wasnt intentionally suggesting you were wrong to mention BT please regard it as adding to the information that you provided! Its just that I hate to see so many people blindly going to BT when there are so many other cheaper options available that offer the same or better service - so I cant resist jumping in to alert them. Its a very fast-moving and competitive world now in ADSL provision, and its really hard to keep up with whats coming and whats here already... I'm not sure I was recommending BT either, more suggesting that it was possible to get easily up and running with a direct connection from an ADSL company outside of the protective easy set up world of AOL. You might also consider cable if sharing bandwidth is not an issue to you. However if it is BT are most likely to be the first to make 1Mb ADSL access available en mass. -- Mac UK is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Mac UK list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/mac-uk.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-uk%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
