Just got my hands on a freebie 5260 but although it chimes as I turn the power on and the screen springs into life just after the hard disk and cd rom spin up I am faced with a chime of doom But it is accompanied by a classic with a smiley face?
Sure it's the chime of doom? Doesn't seem to make sense! An 8.1 Disk Tools floppy should eliminate HD and CD issues.
A 5400/6400 l/b won't work, due to absence of 3.3v line on PSU.
A 5500/6500 l/b should be fine, but PCI cards that need 3.3v will be problematic. Those boards generate 3.3v on-board, with a limited current.
