Hi:

I'm in the interesting position of upgrading everything. (I've just got

possibly a PowerBook if I'm feelign flush) with 10.3 and wondered how that
OS is supported by the main broadband service providers. Does anybody have
any experience running Panther over broadband?

Get an ADSL router (Ethernet or wireless connection) as opposed to an ADSL USB modem, and it's trivial.

If you're feeling flush, go for airport, for browsing anywhere in the house and garden.

This morning, a friend brought over his spanking new 15"PB, still sealed in its box. We opened it up, did the basic set-up (nothing for internet connection at all), and suddenly the 'software update' window appeared. The PB had searched for a connection, found my Airport network, connected to it, with no user intervention at all. The friend (PC->Mac convert) was well impressed.
