As an update to this both the freeserve kit and the cheap ethernet
modem have now arrived. The freeserve modem is a Speedtouch usb model
with drivers for OS9 and X and a doddle to set up.
The cheap ethernet modem I unpacked to reveal not only a four port
ethernet one port usb combined adsl modem and router - but a wireless
model would you believe? Bit of an expensive mistake for the supplier and
I'm presently mulling over whether to send it back or get an airport card
and go wireless. Anyone got one cheap?
