I'm probably going to sound like an idiot but....how do you send SMS
messages from Panther (or any flavour of OSX)? I'd quite happily test
your theory out (T610 and Belkin bluetooth adaptor on an iBook here), but
I'm not sure how.

Open Address Book and click on the Bluetooth icon to establish a connection (it'll turn blue when successful). Then choose your contact and click and hold on 'mobile', in front of the phone number. You will get a menu with SMS message. Enter your text and send.

Neil, it obviously requires the phone to have bluetooth on as well of course. You will need to "pair" the two devices. I would suggest going into Bluetooth preferences and elect to have it show in the tool bar for quick access, then "set up new device" etc. If you get stuck on this bit (as people have in the past) there will be more help available here.

How about you Roger? Did you find the same bug, or is it just me?

I am constantly amazed at my children's abilies with SMS messages; both had touch type without a pause and my son Joe can do this while watching television, at speed! i on the other hand need a good light and a lot of patience, thus typing it into the computer makes a lot of sense. it also announces incoming calls too but i find Panther frequently crashes Bluetooth after it report a "missed call".
