I've got a voodoo 4 pci in my g4/400 yikes.
I'm intregued to know how fast these are in OS X. I have a Radeon in my B&W G4 (not to mention 1GB of RAM and 3 hard disks - but now I'm showing off ;) ) and it's very fast, even just on a 66MHz 32-bit PCI slot. In a lot of cases it far out peroforms the GeForce 2MX 2xAGP chip in my iMac G4.
I did use a Voodoo3/2000 in OS X for a while when I ran it on my 7300/200 but as my memory serves me it was very slow compared to the 16MB Rage 128 which replaced it. Obviously the V4 and V5 have much more oomph, but I'd like some idea of how well they cope with all the whizzy flying graphics on OS X 10.2/10.3.
got any idea how i can gauge the performance?
I just use the card as a cheap way to run dual display. Since i bought my pb15" i only use the g4 for slow designing and as a printer server.
