I waited with bated breath for 10.1 and added a GB of ram before taking the plunge (Never buy .0 of anything! :), but I've bought every version since, and been quite happy that I've been getting value for money.

I bought 10.0 second hand for 50, from a MacFormat journalist who was advertising it privately, so I did quite well there and have taken every update since. Yes, it was a bit bare-bones to start with, wasn't it? :D

Ouch! Not too bad on my B&W...but if I'm going to buy Tiger then that'll
be the machine getting it.

Your still using 10.1 willingly on a good Mac like that? You have some
serious issues to work out :-) older versions such as 9.x I can understand
but 10.1...

Remember 10.0 when it was first made available? I think it was on March
Steve announced proudly that over 2000 apps were already available for the
new OS...still wondering what those two thousand were? (1536 of them were no
doubt command line commands for the bsd base! I actually went out of my way
to travel a good distance at the time to try to get a copy but they had sold
out already! Jag was IMO the real first X release...

Thinking back to 10.0 and the way it ran and that most apps had to run in
Classic...we have it good now.

Yes, but I mean the releases have been in the months between these big
meetings. So how about between January's San Franciso Expo and WWDC in
June......late March.

Stop laughing...

Well as mentioned above I think 10.0 was released around March 24 a couple
of years ago...maybe an anniversary date to remember...besides being the
impulse buyer that I am, I want my toys now dammit!

I'll second your late March release Neil...the glass is half full.
