Thanks Tim :) >Music Files are stored in the folder iPodControl/Music (not usually visible in >Finder, but perfectly >accessible with the Terminal). You can access any hidden folder in Finder if you know the path by using 'Go to...' and typing on the full path. For your iPod it would be /Volumes/<iPod name>/iPodControl/Music . I offer due warning that the iPodControl/Music folder is in absolutely no logical order the files are all sorted into random folders and named with numbers and only the iPod database file know what is where. The best way to restore the music is to backup, then empty the library on the iBook, then copy the whole shabang from the iPod to a neutral folder (on the desktop for example) and then drop that folder on iTunes and let it rebuild the library from the ground up. You will lose things like star ratings, playcounts and stuff but in the circumstances I think it'll be a minor loss in comparison to half the song library. -- Mark Benson http://homepage.mac.com/markbenson -- Mac UK is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Mac UK list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/mac-uk.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[email protected]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-uk%40mail.maclaunch.com/> iPod Accessories for Less at 1-800-iPOD.COM Fast Delivery, Low Price, Good Deal www.1800ipod.com
