I guess that I should have mentioned that I'm only using LiveMotion 1.0. The choice that I have to make is whether to go with Macromedia or upgrade to LM 2.0. As far as Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and Freehand go, I'm not sure if my grad program requires them (I'm just starting this September) or if the graphics programs are left up to the individual student. I've been using LiveMotion for a little more than 2 years and am only so so with it. Granted, I only had the weekends to work with it but I've seen so many amazing sites that were created with Flash MX by comparatively inexperienced flash designers. Sites like Flash Goddess http://flashgoddess.com/ have really good designs with some of the teenage designers only having a "few months" experience using Flash (maybe I'm a little envious because I'm quite a bit older than them). The things that they can do would take me so long to finish with much hair pulling. Things such as making a simple text scroll box is an incredibly complex thing to make in LiveMotion 1.0 when it doesn't have to be.
Anyway, thanks for the insight. Who knows, maybe like you I'll work with both of them and have the best of both worlds.
