It's great to see that you have bought a Mac.
OpenOffice.org on the Mac will open and save most Excel and Word
documents flawlessly. More complex document my have some formatting
problems.
You will need to use your "Install discs" that came with it to do
an "optional install" of "X11".
Please see
<http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/faq/installing/>
for more information on installing OpenOffice.org.
See
<http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/download/x11.html>
for information on downloading OpenOffice.org for the Mac. You will
probably have to choose "Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger)" and then "Intel",
if you have bought the Mac in the past year.
if you can help thanks as mac and apple are another waste of my time
If you have any problems with the above instructions, please come
