Randy Saunders a écrit :
You should add an FAQ entry that answers the question "What's the difference
between OpenOffice
Aqua and NeoOffice?"
First, I'd like to say the title including "vs" is your, and IMHO this
is not a good idea to oppose projects/people like you did with such
approach.
It is not in our intention to oppose anybody nor anything : we are
OpenOffice.org project, we are working on Aqua version, and we will do
it. Nothing else.
That said, I'll limit my answer to facts :
- The name are different
- the licenses are different,
- the codes are different (at least vcl parts and several other)
- the objectives are different : OpenOffice.org does have a social
contract. ( No idea about NeoOffice )
Everything above defines a Fork, and the short answer is : *NeoOffice
is not OpenOffice.org*.
Of course, as I wrote a lot of times, NeoOffice people are welcome if
they want to help us, and contribute to OpenOffice.org project.
It really looks duplicative to have two independent groups working Aqua
versions
of OpenOffice.
Please note : OpenOffice.org is the correct name, because OpenOffice is
already trademarked.
With best regards,
Eric Bachard
