Hi Shaun,
sorry that I didn't answer to your question! Unfortunetaly I can't
contribute a solution to this problem due lacking Mac programming
knowledge. The only thing which comes to my mind: Would it be
possible to recognize if the user started the application from the
disk image so that there could be some warning dialog? If this dialog
would be thrown from OO I would expect that you can localize this
message as the other dialogs are localized as well.

Hi Helge,
There is one downside to this though. Quite simply the language
barrier. How do you propose to get around this?

Hi Shaun,
I think that would be a good idea as long as there are the X11 and
the aqua version having the same filename. Maybe the text could be
sth. like "To avoid performance issues, please drag the
application out of the disk image to any folder on your hard disk
and run the application from there". I think then it's absolutely
clear.
