Do you have an estimated date for aquavcl01 integration ?
I think I'll have more data once all fixes that affects regular X11
as well (e.g. osxmodule.cxx and locale changes) are QAed for X11
and *integrated*.
Oliver told me he resync salaquatox11 with obr5 changes (to avoid
painfull resync with m217), and once changes done, salaquatox11
should be close to REady for QA state ( I'll ask sb to have a look).
we have continual stream of new issues but we do not handle
them properly
Can you please describe more completely what you mean ? This is
interesting to write more about that.
Right now, only builders have access to their own builds (because
we do not have development snapshots).
People will report bugs in the latest version we provided.
Bugs are repeated, duplicated.
Have duplicated issues is usual, and so far, issue reporting is not
development side, but users side most of the time.
Don't forget, we are volunteers, not paid.
You still repeat it, but it doesn't make sense. Only as an excuse.
But I do not care who or why failed. I only care about how to make
it better. For me this information is irrelevant.
This is just your point of view.
All in all, we should get ready to be just yet-another-porting
project of OpenOffice.org project.
We already are. Why this statement ?
We are getting there, but we are not there yet.
I disagree. *We are* Mac OS X port for OpenOffice.org porting project
( X11 version already exists), we need users feddback, and must
provide snapshot versions, to show our activity.
No matter if bugs are still inside : no software is perfect,
obviously with an incomplete version like aqua.
Just as example, since the previous development snapshot, we did ( I
*didn't wrote* we commited everything ) :
- Impress : animations work now (excepted sound)
- export pdf works now (some remaining issues with arabian locales
maybe)
- copy paste works partially (text only )
- 2 instant crashes vanished since new saltimer implementation
( spellchecker and quit )
- native fonts et OpenOffice.org bundled fonts are now usable ->
equations are now correctly displayed, since OpenSymbol is found
- start of native comboboxes (needs work)
- listboxes ( not complete)
- window background use Aqua theme ( patch not commited, but
available : http://eric.bachard.free.fr/mac/aquavcl/patches/
aquavcl01_june2007/window_background/aqua_window_background.diff )
- Calc works (white cell issue solved)
- Writer works ( text input ok, space issue ... etc)
- Maths works (exccepted braces, to be discussed soon )
We can include (at least I do ) :
- native FilePicker, incuding the possibility to choose
OpenOffice.org native one (allows URLs entries like http:// .. )
- new Chart module
...
Isn't it enough to provide a new development snapshot, even calling
it " randomly hacked 02 " ?
I do not remember any port publishing "randomly hacked" version,
e.g. ;-)
In fact the name was just humour. The point is : how accelerate the
integration process ? (partial answer : once aquvcl01 will be, and
doing little steps by little steps )
