And I think you are absolutely right to say that if no arguments are advanced against changing the suffix then it should go ahead.

Historically, SRX645 i.e. 1.1.x version does have .mm and all already ( in vcl/aqua somewhere), and we even have examples and code samples

I just read the IRC log you posted which clarifies the issue quite well.

No problem, but next meeting is wednesday 22th (aquavclcarbonfixes cws is urgent ), and maybe not all devs will be there. IMHO, more easy for all about that, is to use the list. Then, once all people will have been informed, with more clear ideas about that, we could decide during a meeting.

The 22nd is only next week and this is exactly the sort of thing where it is worth waiting before changing anything. Until

It would probably also be an idea to contact QA to see if they have any objections.

Sorry, I'm not sure to understand : what has QA has to do there ? And what objection can have QA about core dev ?

QA might pick up any possible side effects of such a change such as noted with automake.

... /me curious

BTW .. are you developer ? If so welcome aboard :-)

Not really. I might be able help on PyUno but have been waiting for the cws to settle down: this was in considerable flux the last time I looked.
