End user expectations are particularly high on Mac OS X. "Solved" on
Linux/FreeBSD may mean somebody somewhere has a patch, but on Mac OS
X, it's not solved from the end user's standpoint if it doesn't work
that way out of the box. I am aware of the user-space buffering
solution you're referring to. People were using ntfs-3g without it
well after MacFUSE was released, which is why I have that FAQ entry.

Is it part of the default ntfs-3g distribution(s) / source package
now?
