Is this ready for alpha release, with appropriate warnings? Should be
usable for initial testing, when files are accessed by the root
user.

Might it be normal for User and Group ownership of the mount point to
change after mounting, to become the UID and GID of the mounted
filesystem? I've seen similar behavior using sshfs under Ubuntu
linux.
