I have a mac laptop running the latest version of Leopard. I wish to
connect to a remote Linux Ubuntu server over the internet to access
some files on a Samba share. So I have downloaded and installed the
latest version of MacFuse, restarted the laptop and then downloaded
sshfs. I have accessed the terminal on the mac and set up the ssh
tunnel using an arbitrary port number so as not to leave port 22 open
to unwanted access (I've set the arbitrary port on the server and
router). I then thought that I was ready to access the files on the
server so I opened sshfs and input the server IP and my username. I
have set Finder to show servers on the desktop. Nothing happens when I
use sshfs and I am completely stumped knowing what to do. All
internet help indicates that what I have done should work ok. Any
ideas?
