You are confused that a new, unofficial version didn't fix a
particular bug? In my announcement I did not say anything about any
bugs being fixed. In fact, I clearly stated that I don't guarantee
anything at all. I made that version only because I and some other
people wanted to experiment with the 64bit kernel.

So why did you install my package? The update wasn't advertised
through the standard update mechanism in the pref pane, so you had to
actively go and download my package. And if you bothered reading the
discussion around it, you'd see that it doesn't fix any bugs and is
clearly experimental.

I don't see any fiasco. For you, as an end-user, nothing changes. You
still install the same packages, the drivers are (mostly) compatible
with the new kernel and there is no reason at all for end-users to
know that there is a 64bit kernel (nor should they try to boot it,
apple left the 32bit kernel default for a reason). It is to be
expected that some drivers break because of the new kernel, and the
drivers should be fixed by the developers. However, as I said in my
other emails, I'm not a mac developer nor do I know anything about the
mac kernel.
