Unfortunately, after this Group was created, Google made some terrible
changes to the way that all groups (not just this one) operate. We
long ago lost the ability to search reliably; to reply to many posts;
and so on. In these ways and others:

* Google Groups is IMHO no longer suitable for a technical group of
this nature, which sometimes discusses issues spanning weeks or
months.

The search failures and inappropriately locked topics are probable
causes of duplicate, triplicate, umptuplicate posts.

there began a Nabble interface to the Google Group:
