Hi all,

I've been working on a MacFUSE based filesystem lately, and i've become
aware of the issues with regards 64-bit kernel, and i've been reading up on
the latest developments.

Let me see if I can summarise, for my own benefit and for the benefit of
anyone as new to this as me...

- Amit no longer has any interest / active involvement

- Some folks managed to get it compiling 64-bit, but without making it
thread-safe, leading to broken versions which should be hunted down and
killed

- Some other folks managed to put together patches, including the MacPorts
guys, some commerical interests and some lone hackers, with varying degrees
of success

- Huge argument ensued, then everyone calmed down and rationally discussed
things for a bit

- Someone managed to convince Google to hand over project ownership

- Amazingly democratic and mutually respectful discussion decided on two new
owners for the project

- Work is now underway to consolidate the various 64-bit patches and create
the One True Version of MacFUSE which will work in 64-bit for Snow Leopard
and Lion.

Am I correct, more or less, in the above summary? Is work going on (and
where? Github?) right now to produce a consolidated version?

Thanks in advance - i'd really love to know the answers to the above before
spending any more effort on my FS.

Regards

- Rory Sinclair
