Bryan, don't you think it would be more helpful if you released the source of your build? This way your patch could be integrated into MacFUSE (Tuxera)/OSXFUSE/Fuse4X.
Tuxera's MacFUSE has a working update machanism as has OSXFUSE. I don't know about Fuse4X. Having additional builds does not help at all. Nobody can keep track of them. Just my two cents.
