I am no expert on photography, but I bought an Olympus S-550 last summer <http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/ cpg_product_lobbypage.asp?l=1&p=16&bc=1&product=867> and have been quite happy with it. We've taken nearly a thousand pictures with it. It's pretty much a point and shoot camera with 3 megapixels. The pictures are very good -- much better than my brother's HP Photosmart 720, and the batteries last _much_ longer than the HP. It works right out of the box with Mac OS X over USB on my G4 and iBook. I think any of the PCI USB cards would probably work for you. I've used the combination USB/Firewire card from Orange Micro, although not with this camera, and it had no trouble talking to a Zip drive and an Epson printer. The next meeting of the Louisville Computer Society will be January 28 For more information, see <http://www.aye.net/~lcs>. A calendar of activities is at <http://www.calsnet.net/macusers>.
