... and I just installed Jaguar on a Rev A machine last week. It had a 
third party USB card in it w/o anything attached, and the installation 
went smoothly (if a bit slow). I didn't think to reset the PRAM, but I 
guess this wasn't necessary.

Same thing with the Rev A.

Mine's a G3/266 also, and I can concur, though Jaguar is way faster than 
I expected (I was expecting it to be really, really pokey). As my machine 
is 4 1/2 years old and has only 224 MB of RAM, I'm happy enough. 

I've heard of folks (Allan?) who have G3s with G4 upgrades who are plenty 
happy (though a G4 upgrade isn't all that cheap).
