Hey folks, I finally got my turntable working properly, and now I'd like to rip my old LPs. The problem is that the stereo is upstairs and the computer is downstairs.
I could take the stereo apart and bring the amp and turntable downstairs every time I'd like to record something (ugh). I could buy a Griffin iMic and use their Final Vinyl software to avoid using the amp... but I'm not sure how well this works. Has anyone done this and been pleased? It's important that the turntable be close to the computer, since it would save much racing up and down the stairs while trying to adjust the levels. Any suggestions for a good way to avoid both dismantling the stereo (or the computer, I suppose) and running up and down the stairs?
