I've used the same setup (iMic and Final Vinyl) to rip ONE song from an LP.
So my experience is somewhat limited.

The ripping was from the turntable and directly from the cartridge with no
pre-amplification.  Sounded fine after grounding the turntable. (My old
turntable used two-wire line cord.)

I was using an older version of FV and have not tried 1.1.2 yet.

I also haven't tried to separate multiple songs from a ripping with FV.  I
think Audacity would be better suited for this.  That's a freebie from
soundforge.net

Remember ripping two songs will surpass my experience level.
