If you're running Mac OS X, file permissions and ownership become a problem. All Unix-type operating systems restrict who can do what to which files. If you just drag files onto the hard drive, they may not arrive there with the correct ownership and permissions. The Disk Utility will fix some problems associated with ownership and permissions for files about which it knows. | The next meeting of the Louisville Computer Society will | be March 25.
