Our computer is an EMac running 10.2.4 with 640 MB memory. If we
boot after a shut down or restart everything is fine; however, if we
run one program, quit that program and open another it starts to slow
down. This gets progressively worse each time we quit a program and
start another until it gets so slow that we have to shut down and start
over. Today I talked to , Carl, a service rep from Apple. He
suggested I run Disk First Aid ; however, I explained that I have run
Disk First Aid, Text Tool Deluxe, and MacJanitor . This helps for a
while but the problem comes right back. After Carl checked a
reference he came to the conclusion that the computer is not clearing
memory when we QUIT a program. It is just like trying to open several
programs, one on top of the other. He said HP printer drivers may be
causing the problem . We are using a HP 952 c Printer and HP 3570 c
Scanner. Is anyone using HP printers or scanners? If so have you
experienced this problem?
