The iPod is quite nice. A few of us have them at work, 2 old-style and
1-new-style. The new-style looks terrible, but Apple have not provided a
software update for the old-style to allow them to match the new-style
software. Irritating.

It looks as though Apple have cheapened the process for making the new
style iPods and it shows. The buttons look pretty tacky.

Nice

Essential. I have an 'iRock' and it's i$#%#. Because it's limited to
public bands, we find that for a large part of our trip it gets drowned
out by local illegal(?) radio stations and/or university radio. On a trip
down to Mammooth Caves, we got to listen to someone's daughter playing her
favourite tunes before her mother came back to put on some classic oldies.

Not bad. The iRock just dangles off.
