Tony;

I have an Epson Stylus Photo 890 that works well. I just check for ink
levels occasionally... and it warns me with a blinking red light when
ink levels are low in one cartridge or the other. My Printer Utility
even tells me, based on the last job printed, how many similar jobs it
estimates can be done on remaining ink levels. There doesn't seem to be
any problem with the thing. And there doesn't seem to be anything
time-based about it.
