When I first started with @Home back in 98 or 99, I had a few weeks where my modem (leased) would not connect to the network. I had technicians come out several times to work on it, and if they got it connected, the connection would fail within a few days. I was using a Motorola Surfboard at the time. The technician brought in an RCA modem, just to see if it would work, and it synced up the very first time. I kept the RCA for the rest of the time I was in Louisville and never had a minute's problem with it...
So, long story short, see if Insight will exchange the modem for another brand, or if not, pick up one at CompUSA and try it. If it works better, great. If not, take it back. If the problems persist, that will at least rule out about everything hardware-wise from your side of the network. Bryan C.
