I have never had a problem with disk burned from OS X Finder or Burn Folder. I used to archive on CD and never had a problem using a retrieved image. (Now I archive on an external HD as I was getting buried with CD's and the time necessary for filing them in a manner I could find something?reminded me of negatives :) The Finder thumbnail is just that, doing a Get Info on the thumbnail will assure you the file size is the same as when you saved the file. Where Toast shines is the options available for DVD and the ability to create hybrid Mac/PC disk.
