right now, that is what i am leaning towards.
i only have a few reservations.

first, the iBook would have 1GB of Ram (custom order) vs. the 512mb
in the PowerBook.
the PowerBook only has 256mb on board, and 256 in the extra slot.

i suppose that I could do some swapping with the current iBook that
i own, so that the PowerBook would have 768mb RAM, and the old iBook
for the fiance would be left with 512mb.

Would the extra processor speed, VRAM, hard drive speed, etc., make
up for the loss of RAM? what i'm asking is how would a 1.33GHz iBook
with 1GB RAM, compare to a 1.5Ghz Powerbook with 756mb RAM?

also, i am slightly concerned about battery life on the PowerBook.
How do they compare to the iBooks? This is fairly important to me, as
i'm finishing up a degree at university, and certainly need the
mobility that a laptop offers.
(and BTW, while i'm on the subject, are there any compatable non-
Apple power supplies for their laptops, maybe some that *don't* cost
a fortune?)

thanks again for any help,

Rick
