Stuart:

I discovered recently that one type of Apple USB keyboard will
recognize/recharge the iPod Shuffle, while another one that looks
indentical won't.

In my experience, the keyboards that have the USB ports at either
corner of the keyboard will _not_ charge or sync the Shuffle, while
newer ones that have the USB ports close together in the back center
of the keyboard, will charge and sync it. I have confirmed this using
each type of keyboard with an iMac G3 and an eMac. I would suspect
the Mini would be the same.

I bought one of these USB-ports-in-the-center at CompUSA a few weeks
ago for about $30.
