I'm flummoxed. Maybe all center-mounted-port USB keyboards aren't the same. Of course, I also was not using a Mac Mini as the base computer -- but it did work on two computers that only have USB 1.1, so I don't think that you absolutely _have_ to have USB 2.0 to charge your Shuffle.
