Hey folks,

I just noticed an odd behavior when printing to a pdf file:

If I use Print... and then Save to PDF... and save the resulting
file, then the read/write permissions are as they ought to to be: 644
(-rw-r--r--), BUT if I change the page layout to, say, 2 pages per
sheet, then the resulting file has different permissions, namely 600
(-rw------). I also get permissions of 600 when I use Automator to
combine PDFs together. These different behaviors happen even when I
put things in the same directory, so it's not a sticky bit problem.

Is there any way to change this rather quirky behavior to ensure that
I can have 644 permissions, no matter what I do? Do others have this
same problem?

I use the pdfs to share with classes I teach, and just realized that
many of the files have been inaccessible to the students. (Of course,
this also tells me how many students have tried to get to the files: 0.)

Thanks for any tips,

Bill
