Since the problem occurred, I've been checking for updates using OnyX  
s/w update checker, and there's no version (just checked at 3:30 pm)  
beyond v1.6.4, which I have.

I checked the versiontracker site for a newer version, and found a  
*beta* of v1.6.5.  Thx.
