I'm trying to install Panther on my daughter's iMac G3 450 mhz slot
loading computer. I'm getting an error message now that says the
extension "system/library/extensions/symfs.kext" isn't installed
properly and should be reinstalled. I've tried reinstalling the second
install CD, thinking the extension was there, but the error message
didn't go away. when I tried reinstalling the first reinstall CD the
computer said I couldn't reinstall it because I had updated the
operating system. It said I could erase the hard drive and reinstall
the entire operating system. Any suggestions? I'd like to avoid wiping
out the hard drive if there is a way to do so. Thanks--Ben Zion
