I don't know what's happening, but it's probably not a kernel panic. On X.1.n, kernel panics brought up debugging text on the screen. On X.2.n, kernel panics bring up a dialog box with instructions in several languages about how to reboot. It does sound like a hardware problem to me. I'd check the hard drive where TurboTax is installed, and I'd also check the fonts TurboTax uses. MacInTax had a history of doing weird font installations that messed up other programs, so maybe TurboTax has carried on that fine tradition. | The next meeting of the Louisville Computer Society will | be February 25.
