Yes, I do. I unplug everything, from my Powerbook to my external  
drives, Airport Base Station and DSL modem. I started doing it after I  
saw my Supra modem go up in a puff of smoke during a storm about 10  
years ago (the modem was on, but not connected). Ever since then, when  
I hear thunder, I start unplugging....
