Peter, I do archive with Google mail, too, it is wonderful for 
retrieval. I forward everything interesting  from the Macgroup to my 
google mail account , almost everything else goes to gmail direct .  I 
also send articles  as attachments  to my gmail and then archive them.. 
" Tiger" is supposed to come out with  a search engine for HD. Do you 
believe Apple will also have this sort of searching for  the future 
mail accounts?
