This is by far the worst part of the 'new' interface. As Jerry said, it is much better under Panther, but it still is a pain in the butt. I would suggest one of two pieces of shareware to get things back to tolerable: MaxMenus from Proteron Software allows nice corner menus which are better than the old Apple Menu. Location: http://www.proteron.com/maxmenus/ or Ittec from Balance Software is a pretty good substitute for FinderPop, so it allows navigation through hierarchical menus from wherever you click in the Finder, allows control-clicking on a file and simply navigating to wherever you want to move it etc. It isn't pintware, and there is no hilarious manual to read, but it is very functional. Location: http://www.balance-software.com/ittec/ Sure, Apple should not have tossed out all the niceness of the old interface. One of these might make you happier again.
