Being I just went through this I thought I?d put in 2 cents. My main Mac has been a G3 tower although I do have a G4 iBook. I am doing some work for Pitt Academy and needed a Mac there also. So I bought a MiniMac for use at Pitt. It is doing all I need for small office work. I?m very satisfied. It it a bit slow compared to the Dual G5 2GH I bought to replace my G3. The reason I went with the G5: 1. I did not want a Intel.Mac ay this point 2. I wanted some this that would last as long as the G3 3. I want to get into making some movies on DVD so I wanted the fastest Mac I could afford. So I bought a Dual G5 2Mhz, 1 GB ram and 2 -250 GB SATA drives.
I stopped by Sams Club and found a 26 LCD TV that also had a HDMI and PC-VGA input with PIP. So now I sit looking at either a 26? screen with a small TV screen in the corner or a split screen computer/tv with a 19? View Sonic monitor. I?m trying to decide if I should get an additional video card so I can hook up the second View Sonic monitor. Then I?d have a full command center. I?m hoping this will last me a few years.
