Mike, I got it all correct now, of course I have always played with 
icon view and list view, but I thought, for some reason, my document 
file, the one i keep in the dock, was in the list view, and for the 
life of me I could not get the whole file to give me the modified date 
view, only one by one. Bill reminded me in an e-mail after I sent back 
a note to you, I thought perhaps this dock business did me in, but all 
is ok again. --
