My eyes!!!!!!! ;) Dan-o (always wanted to call someone that), Try tossing this file: com.apple.LaunchServices.plist It lives in /Users/dan-o'shortname/Library/Preferences/ Shutdown the Mac. Then start it back up. Do not do a restart. But, I agree with Ward. Disk Permissions repair first. Then, boot from the CD and run Disk Repair just to be sure.
