By the way, the charge for BellSouth's high-speed DSL has been reduced
to $35.00
per month. That's not too much different from Insight's $30.00 (in
package) charge.

I had written a short while ago this afternoon:

I just got a sales letter from Insight offering high-speed internet,
phone, and digital services. They are touting their savings. They have
no idea how many of our group have been having such difficulty with
their recent service.

I have never been comfortable with trusting my telephone and DSL
service to them. I am still a BellSouth hold-out. It's like buying one
appliance to do several jobs... when one function goes, the whole
purpose of the combination is ruined.

Even with phone service, I have learned that one must keep one
old-fashioned phone (with a cord) around. If the electricity goes out,
cordless phones are also kaput!
