Mike, I don't quite agree with you here. I have always had good help or at least trials for help with Insight. I have everything with them, cable, telephone and broadband. They are having tech difficulties revamping the system, and that is what at present it is all about. The Satellite Dish Channel which I use to get those two German channels has a problem of losing the signal sometimes and then recovering it quickly, but when you are recording something, that's a bummer, too. Insight had done some changes in the webmail for security, a few months ago, which made me mad as a hatter, I was on the phone with them days in a row, got finally to the headmaster, explained in detail why it all was so crazy that they thought they helped, but hindered everything with their interesting pop-up window. Now I don't have that trouble anymore, someone got to those people who write the scripts. - I also gave those individuals Thunder and Blitzen when they tried to blame Apple or Safari. ( Calls from my friend's house to Bellsouth got their help insinuating the same thing. --You must have trouble with your computer: we encourage using Explorer and use Outlook Express !! BRRRRRR I screamed into the telephone - Don't you ever hide your incompetence behind the Mac name and demanded a different person. So it happens with all the help with many companies. ) Had them give me their names, told them to go study the Mac and never ever use any browser or computer to hide their incapability, simply say :" I don't know "and get me to one who knows until you have done your homework. Of course there are a few good people who know about the Mac at Insight , so my first question always is : are you Mac savvy ,and if you are not, get me somebody else right now before I even spill my beans. They will finally give in, although reluctantly, because they are not supposed to. We have to teach them that " I don't know" is not a sign of stupidity, but that we are all ignorant in certain areas. And our own group participant John Stone who was, but now is not in the help situation anymore, albeit still works for Insight, can always give you pointers.--- I also get a rebate of $ 10.00 since I have multiple services from Insight, but altogether, it does not seem any worse than Bellsouth or any other provider, about whom a number of my friends do a lot of complaining when it comes to help. I also have learned a few tricks to get by the "higher than usual call volume" , you can always get the voice confused by pressing different buttons constanly until the voice tells you she ( it is always a female voice) did not get it and you are transferred to a real person or you can press the button for adding new service and you get into the loop a lot faster! My next project is to invade their Holy Halls at Preston, and have them give me a guided tour , so I can make suggestions for improvement personally to people in authority, since there is not a single telephone number for anybody in charge of anything. I have in mind to collect business cards from people who count. Marta
