Not sure this is correct. I had purchased QT Pro 7 several months ago and last night used SUP to upgrade to 7.1. It did not ask for any registration key.
I just launched QuickTime Player and it started up normally, again without asking for a key. I confirmed that I was using version 7.1. I clicked on the Registration link in the dropdown menu and it shows my name and registration number. Maybe I'll find out differently if I try to do something more advanced . . . but for now it appears that it updated version 7 without requiring me to purchase a new key.
