My 600 MHz iBook went in so many times for so many different things
that the last time Apple just replaced it with a 1.2 GHz the week
they came out, one week before my AppleCare ran out.

I have had it (the 1.2) for about a year and a half now and if it
wasn't for the drool all over my keyboard from watching the MacIntel
laptop coverage these past few months I would say it's been just
about perfect. I have it plugged into a 19 in LCD and have applied
the display hack to get it to support higher resolutions on an
external monitor. I LOVE it. It has been fast and flawless.

Lately, though, I did have a client that got a 15" MacBook and I've
got to say that it really leaves my lowly 'Book in the dust. With the
MUCH brighter screen and the awesome speed, looks like it's gonna be
MacBook[Pro] time soon for me. I want to get my hands on a 12" before
I decide which one, though.

BTW, when they decline to replace an oft-repaired machine, ask to
speak to a supervisor. Be firm, but polite. They want you to be happy.
