Hey Mike, pardon us for eavesdropping!
  No answer on the  first  or  third  parts...
  The second part though: I don't have "Pro", so I can only tell
  what I see when I use QT Player -- LOTS of pull-down menu
  items are greyed, and if one of those are actually selected,
  you get an invite to get "Pro".
